The Influence of Modernism

I discovered modern art movements which included architecture, sculpture and applied arts, while growing up in Switzerland during the 60’s and 70’s. To me, these contemporary visions represented a break with the past, an opening of minds and a promise of a new era. I saw a colourful freshness which still excites me today and continues to be the main source for inspiration and the basis for my own artworks.

I started painting in 2012, coming from a background of glass making and ceramic casting. As a mature student, I obtained a BA in Glass Design, and this foundation plays an important part in my development as a mostly self-taught artist. I enjoy a real sense of wonder when exploring new projects and new techniques. I specialize in creating quirky and alternative one-off originals.
